This show is dedicated to the memory of Comedian/Actor Rich Ramirez , who passed away recently. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ramirez at shows presented by Mike Oquendo , and I had conversations with him previously through our common work with our respective Boys and Girls Clubs - Mr. Ramirez with the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx, and my at the Union League Boys and Girls Clubs in Chicago. Mr. Ramirez taught a series of acting classes at his Club, and also taught and mentored many young comc actors here in Chicago through his work with Mikey O. My thoughts, prayers, condolences and respect are sent to Mr. Ramirez and his family, as well as Mikey, who was very close to Mr. Ramirez...

I was joined by Marisel Melendez and Natalie Mia Bermeo of the Vida Bella Ensemble, who helped me to conduct the very delicate interview. The second half hour will feature Club Kids Natalie and Anthony, who will talk about their recent news bulletin board project at their Charter School in the Irving Park area. As always, your clicks and comments are welcome. In this program, the first half hourl reprised my 2008 interview with Chicago based and internationally known artist/youth advocate/peace activist Matt Lamb, who passed away recently at the age of 79. The second half hour featured an all new Celebrity Hotline Conversation with comic actress Jill-Michele Melean of MadTV, Comedy Central and Showtime fame. That promises to be a fun and insightful conversation. This edition of Club Kids Radio/Celebrity Conversations features a very important conversation with Carlos Jiménez Flores and Darlene Vazquetelles of the Puerto Rican Alliance for Awareness. He's a former Club Kid and she's an actress and they have both launched a movement designed to encourage positive portrayals of Puerto Ricans (and others) in the entertainment media. The movement's seed was planted as a result of 27 seconds of script aired by the ABC "comedy" Working It, which ironically was cancelled this week by the network after only two episodes, and just a few days after this radio interview originally aired...things that make you go...enjoy the rebroadcast!
