WCGO 10/29/11 "Cancer Awareness Special" w/Harv Roman, Kelly Sena and Katie Weiss

Played: 189 | Download | Duration: 01:18:39

In this very impactful edition of "Club Kids Radio", which aired originally on Chicago's WCGO AM 1590, host Harv Roman welcomed former Club Kid (and current Club staff member) Kelly Sena and Charter School staff member Katie Weiss to the WCGO Celebrity Hotline to discuss their experiences facing the challenges of living with cancer. Kelly talks about her days as a young Club Kid leading up to her standing now as a role model, mentor and staff member of the Talcott Union League Boys and Girls Club, while Katie talks about her discovery and diagnosis of breast cancer and how she has been able to live with and educate others about the disease. They both have powerful stories and they are to be commended for their courageous battle and motivation to inspire others through their words and actions. Thanks and respect to Kelly and Katie for agreeing to this special interview and to the many who posted warm thoughts on Facebook while the show was airing on WCGO. The new music of MaRey was featured in the first segment...she is a new dance music artist, who reached out and will be featured in her own interview soon on Club Kids Radio.

Your comments are welcome here, and on the Harv Roman Facebook page.

Club Kids Radio airs Saturday mornings from 6am to 7am on Chicago's WCGO 1590 AM and www.1590wcgo.com , with podcasts posted here on www.wakeupdancing.com .

An amazing and touching interview....My sister Kelly is very strong and it shows!!

Thanks, April...you're right. Kelly did an incredible job sharing her story and is setting a great tone for all of us to follow. I've always liked Kelly and your entire family (who I've known since grammar school), but my respect and admiration has grown tremendously as I've been so humbled and impressed by Kelly's motivation and ambition to give back to the youth and her community. That's what makes our work with the next generation so rewarding...kids like you and Kelly...owe you a bearhug!
