while the debate continues about just when Freestyle music was born (Shannon/1983, Nayobe/Expose/1985, TKA/1986) most count 1986 as the year that Freestyle gained a foothold in the dance music community. In November, TKA/K7, Studio 63 and I launched the 25th Anniversary of Freestyle in Chicago. I am now looking for Pre-Style requests for an all new edition of House of Freestyle y Mas. In the meanwhile, a shoebox search led me to this Classic Summer of 1984 Mix by Tony Boom Boom Badea - even before he was named "Boom Boom" - he was known as Mr. Magic back then...Alisha and Shannon give hints in this mix of what was musically become known as Freestyle music.
