On this Fourth of July 2008 weekend, Harv Roman features interview highlights from the man who has become "America's Mexican", George Lopez. Harv is one of the very few interviewers (radio, print or television) who can brag about having interviewed George since 1992 (16 years ago)! As a person, George has remained a loyal and genuine person. As a performer, George has gone from the 300 seat Funny Firm Comedy Club in Chicago, to sold out stadiums throughout the world. Listen to these highlights as we look back on an aspiring comic in his 20's to the prominent performer in his 40's (George, not Harv). You can actually hear the seeds being planted for what has become one of the most succcessful and inspiring Hollywood stories ever.
The playlist for the show includes the following (please accept my apologies for cutting the songs short in order to include as much George Lopez interview material as possible):
Jungle Brothers and George Lopez-Can You Feel It, Lisette Melendez-Time Passes By, K7 and Tybless-The Jump Off, Sweet Sensation-Sincerely Yours, Lucas Prata and Kim Sozzi-Don't You Want Me, Rochelle-Praying For An Angel, George Lamond-Bad of the Heart, Shannon-Let The Music Play, Nyasia-Physical Attraction, TKA-Maria.
Enjoy and as always, please feel free to leave your comments. By the way, you may also want to check out the Betty Dee interview here on Wake Up Dancing. Betty has been dealing with several personal challenges recently and Sweet Sensation has been retired as a group as a result. Go to Sweet Sensations myspace page for detailed information, which will be reposted here soon.
